Aborting Mission

Sorry fellow Generals, I have to apologise.

I can't attend the steamboat this weekend. Because the family reunion dinner has changed to a reunion lunch. I won't be free from morning till about 4pm, estimated.

I have to pull out of the gathering. You all enjoy.

Chevs

It was one hell of a crazy night on Saturday. In a rare and successful impromptu gathering, successful defined as "plan not cancelled", Chevrons was organised in less than 2 hours.

A pity that the attendance couldn't be better, as abscene of lucky Chay and Cherry was sorely missed. Well, lucky because the two of them already have 2Cs out of 5. Work hard Chay, get the little more Cs out soon and I can't wait to see our kids play together. Haha! Okay, I know the 5Cs joke ain't funny - I just thought of it only. But, yeah, the point is we didn't have Chay's oldies that night. Candid Queen, Rong, was also missed for her trademark "rugged" laughters, which always comes with her trademark "palm-pressing-against-her-mouth-slightly-too-late action". See Rong? I've always been noticing you. HJ's usual list of Jay Chou's wasn't up the screen, Lun wasn't there to contribute to the jokes, and Den could only join us for supper thereafter. Delon was busy with national duties, and Mui is about to be charged AWOL since the "rugged" chalet. I assure you, that is a one time mis-hit. Jian won't book those chalets again.

It was a great night. I had fun. And I just can't forget how the girls were crazy over Chinese New Year songs, and how Right Here Waiting had meaningless mandarin lyrics.

I didn't manage to capture Yin's wilder moment during the singing, because I was shaking too hard laughing. This is 10 times milder than the climax of the night. Published with permission from Yin herself.

Week's starting. More work. But reward's a long weekend. Endure!

Operation Pre-Huat

Date: 3rd Feb 2008 (Sunday)
Time: 1200H onwards
Attire: Casual
Bring: Money for food and activities, tidbits, anything entertaining
Remember: No oranges yet.

Peggen will settle the food, right? So, we leave it up to you. Thanks.

I should be able to drive those teck whye guys. So, same as before, we can meet at Jian Wei's void deck. So, HJ, Lon and Xia, you can meet there too. I can make a trip to Yirong's house too, if you want. We fix the time to meet later. I can take 7 legally at the back, so I think that should be about just nice.

Thats it. One more week to D-Day.

But Miss Dang gotta state first that she will need to go off around 5pm plus that day because she's having an advanced reunion dinner at her po po's side too! So if 2nd Feb is chosen instead, the most glad is Miss Dang~! ^_^

Alright alright, let the majority decide though. Till then~! =)

Love,
Miss Dang, and those in red updated by M.Jay on 25 Jan, 2320H.

Operation Pre-Huat

Brigadier General Peg has issued a change of battle plans. And so far, only General Rong and General Shiyin has commented on the below issues. I have issued orders for an independant commission to investigate on why the rest of the other commanders have kept quiet and not responded. Be reminded, "Absent Without Official Leave" will result in a demotion to the rank of slaves, and condemned to the "Labour Party" for 2 years - which entitles you to all available "sai kang" in any events. Be warned, fellow Generals.

Fellow comarades, I am agreeable with abolishing Operation Pee Pee, since Comarade Rong has other missions at her hands. And Comarade Peg's pre-emptive reunion dinner sounds like a pretty good plan. For one, I am sure we do not want to find ourselves WMDs during the meal. (WMDs - Without Many Delicacies, which includes the marine biological prawns, the chemically simulating squids, and the nuclear-like taste of sambal kangkongs.)

However, we do have many problems for this mission. Firstly, we have yet to decide on the D-Day. Comarade Shiyin has voiced her concerns over 3rd Feb, and is proposing 2nd Feb. We will work on this two dates, and see the majority's choice. The others will just have to make it on the decided date, or risk being charged AWOL. Secondly, I presume there's going to be an Advance Party who will be preparing the food - buy, wash and cut etc. We need to decide on that, as well as the budget available. I have checked with the Ministry of Finance, (a.k.a Singapore Pools) and they have denied any grants for us this mission. Generals, we have to work something out of our pockets.

I, hereby, codename this mission, Operation Pre-Huat - a prelude to Operation Huat, which we can still have minus the steamboat. Operation Huat can be at Den's place, where he can den set up his little den, and den get some beer in cans, pizzas in pans, switch on the aircons and fans, and we will all laugh so much till we pant. But Den, please don't make us lose till we shit in our pants.

Here's the skinny:
Battleplans - Operation Pre-Huat

Date: 2nd or 3rd Feb (Tell me on the chatbox which is your preferred date)
Time: 1pm till Mak wins enough cash
Attire: Casual - can't bring oranges yet, because it ain't officially CNY yet. Bad omen to celebrate it earlier.
Budget: $15/head for food and drinks. Drinks would be the main bulk, on my estimate. Prawns are going to cost nearly $15/kg during that period.
Food buying: Guys (buy the food and bring it over to Peg's house)
Food Prep and House Prep: Girls (Make sure the house does not even have a speck of dust, and make sure the steamboat is working.)

Comarades, I need your reply soon. Or General Peg will have my head soon.

3rd Feb reunion lunch

Hey guys, after a discussion with Shiyin last night, I have a change of proposal to our CNY steamboat.

Shall we have it on 3rd Feb (Sunday), the weekend before CNY instead. Like a pre reunion dinner kinda thing. But we will have a extended lunch instead. Means from like 1pm till probable evening?

Firstly, and most importantly, I realized that steamboat on the 3rd day of CNY is a major marketing issue. Not the consumer behavior, target audience kind of marketing but the “uncle I buy kangkong you give me free spring onion” kind of marketing. If we have it on chu 3 means all marketing has to be done before chu xi before everyone stops working and it is a big problem cos missy is working now so no time to mai cai on Monday and Tuesday. And if I buy on the weekends, all the hei and sotong wouldn’t be fresh by the following week. So if we have it on 3rd Feb, I have Saturday to do marketing and to clean up my house. And all the hei and hee will still be fresh.

Secondly, I have a hunch that operation pee pee is not realizing this weekend, judging from the response, so on 3rd Feb we can present Chay his royal scroll as well. Sounds like an idea?

Since it is a reunion dinner, I hope everyone can turn up. Delon please say you can come. And all partners are invited as well cos Shiyin can’t wait to meet Wanqi. So everyone whose faces are on the left, plus Wanqi, Cherry, Heyi, Derik, Andrew, Shuxia, Zhichang, Chan Howe, Den’s yet to intro new girlfriend, Chay’s er nai and Mak’s xiao lao po, All come all come.

If in full force we should have close to 20 people, so you guys have to jiang jiu yi dian with my humble 4 room flat. We definitely wouldn’t be able to all sit and eat together but we can go in rounds, the rest can gamble and chit chat watch TV etc. My living room should be able to fit a mahjong table, and my tea table can be used to play cards. Wah.. I am totally imagining already!

Need someone to help me collate attendance and get back to me cos like I said, missy working now and my location is not fixed (not sure if I have internet access in the day, depending on where I am) and kinda lazy to come online at night.

I shall let Mak do the honour since he is so free (I think). Thanks Jiayuan!! Your dateline is this coming Sunday to report to me so I can plan the rest. Chase, beg, hound, do whatever you need.
In a rush to go,
Peggen

Operation Pee Pee

Its time for another operation together, ladies and gentlemen. After Operation Ubin, we have yet to see one another, and the next big one would be Operation Huat, which comprises of the steamboat at Peg's place. Lets have one more prior to Operation Huat. And this is the proposal:

Battleplans: Operation Pee Pee

Operation Pee Pee will involve two fiercely intensive physical event that will take place in the same day - paddle and pedal.

We could have a weekend, likely to be a Saturday, and we can all ride it out to Sentosa, or anywhere else to canoe and ride or rollerblade. Next Sat could be an option if everyone is up to it. Transport could be of the same arrangement as Ubin. Venue is still an open option, anyone any suggestions? We could also have a picnic of potluck at the same time. Bring a volleyball or soccer ball and we have our games settled. A deck of good old trusty poker cards can also do the trick.

I will be awaiting the feedback from you, generals and commanders.

(Pardon the lingo, its the side effects from my latest PC entertainment "Medal of Honour: Pacific Assault - its a great game though.)

Please Type A Message

Is there something wrong with our chatbox?

Why does it keep telling me to "Please type a message" whenever I click 'Go' or press 'Enter'?

Anyway, I also know who Rong is talking about. His CCA is BB, but his initials are GB.

Lifes like that sometimes.

Very De Bored.

Those university undergraduates are back in university.

Those working are, as usual, still working.

Those doing their interns are still interns.

Those slacking and looking for job, are still. Opps, sorry. Not "those", because there IS only me.

And yes, am still slacking and looking for a job.

Tell me when you people are free, I, shall volunteer to organise something. Maybe a sentosa volleyball as some of us talk about before. Maybe another Den on a free weekend. And Den here means both his name "Den", and also the "den" that means a little hidden shelter. Now we know why Den is so talented in his Den. His name has already won half the battle. Well then, we can get Den to get us a Den, then we can on some music and try to Dance, invite our songbird miss Dang, and then.. then.. then.. then..

Alright, I am bored.

Let me try to impress. Anybody remember Avogadro's Constant? This is Chemistry, my favourite subject. This is the number of atoms/molecules that is present in a mole. That means in 1 mole of element, like say Hydrogen, there is that constant number of hydrogen atoms. And that constant is 6.02 x (10 to the power of 23). Please look impressed.

At least thats easier than Maths. Please, let there not be maths in my course of study in NTU for the next 4 years. Don't care whether core, or elective, please don't ask me to intergrate, differentiate. Or else I will dis-intergrate the lecturer until he cannot even differentiate his toes from his nose. If anyone tries to make me do a dx/dy again, I will just go right to his face and rap him a rap, "De feet of de duck went over de fence before de tail." And I got more de- words in my head than just defeat, deduct, defence and detail.

Damn. I should have tried this on Susan Leong.
