Vday

Hey...

Don't ask me why but I expected someone like Chay to come out with a post something like that within these few days. With the sad and lonely language. And I repeat, don't ask me why. I just had the feeling. Probably we wanna count back on the number of years we were acquaintants before having this gang. 10 or 11 years? I was in the same class as you in Pri 3? or 4? I can't remember lah. Haha. But well, its still quite long.

About your that friend, is he like super handsome/charming or is he simply a big flirt? So many dates to "rush"to. If I were one of the girls, I wouldn't even wanna date him in the first place. Pui.

Talking about Valentine's Day, anyone has any HOT dates? Shiyin, any look-like-Thomas-Ong or look-like-Shawn-Yue guys date you or not? Rong, any Astro-boy-pattern-VERY-"shuai" guys date you or not? Yu, any cute-hot-dancer date you or not? Mui, got any whats-that-comic-boys-cute-guy-name date you or not? But to sum all the crap up, anyone has any HOT dates? And the guys, anyone dating any sizzling hot girls?

As for me, let me tell you what I will be doing on the day itself. My calendar is absolutely empty for that day which I turn (20 years- 4 months) old. I have no class that day. I have a freaking test the day before and the next day. And my boy kena sai gang that evening. HOW NICE hor? Which means I will most probably be mugging at home too, Chay.

But I'm celebrating it in advance lah. And there are certainly benefits.

The are 4 types of people during Valentine's Day:
  1. If you are single, you can go out with anyone and everyone. You are free to accept any dates from anyone with no restrictions.
  2. If you are attached and both of you are free, you can have the traditional approach to Valentine's Day.
  3. If you are attached and your other half is not free, then you have no choice but to be a good girl/boy and stay at home and accompany your still-single family members. (heh heh, now I know why my handsome brother is still single. because he can forsee this day. what a nice brother!) You are so-called "not allowed"to accept any dates from any other persons with the opposite sex because its just not right/nice.
  4. If you are attached and you are not free, you probably will be wondering what your other half is doing on this Valentine's day. If you don't trust him/her, you will be worrying. If you trust him/her, you will be feeling bad. I guess?

Did I leave out any? Out of the 4, which is the saddest? I don't see that its 1. If you think I am tring to say that its 3, its not so much that too. I think its just another day. Valentine's Day or not, you still can tell the person you love how you love them, you still can dine at/go to romantic places, you still can shower your loved one with gifts, you still can buy flowers.

Anyone read the recent XiaXue post about the giving flowers on Valentine's Day thingy? Let me quote from her,

"Well here's a piece of information for you my dear boys...

It's a secret...

Girls do not actually like flowers.

I KNOW RIGHT?! You gasp, but it's true! I mean yes, flowers are pretty and they smell nice, but they are but some dead plants. So why do girls still want flowers on V day?

BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING IT. And not getting flowers means your boyfriend treats you inferior to how the other boyfriends are treating their girlfriends. And that sucks - because every girl wants to feel special. :)"

I always think buying flowers is a waste of money, no doubt its sweet. Remember I used to be selling flowers during Valentine's Day? Haha, that was in J1 I think. The guys with the girlfriend empty handed will just stop and purchase a stalk, many at times without you needing to force them. And if they do not stop, and you approach them, they most probably wouldn't reject. But why was it so hard to sell that time? Simply becasue most girls are already holding on to one. And I actually forced friends to buy from me eventhough their girlfriends already has one. Stupid, I know. But what to do? Its so commercialised.

I think most girls wonder about what to do with the flowers when they receive it. ANd that is a nerve-wrecking question. Ultimately, it goes to the bin. So wasted!! Why don't you put the money into an angbao (can reuse those cny ones) and give it to her instead so that she can go Zara and buy a few t-shirts (I went ZAra a few days ago and their t-shirts this season are damn nice!) I am just kidding lah. Although I admit being a practical person. But if my boyfriend dares to give me an angbao as a gift, I think I will kill him. But what I am trying to drive at is that its a waste of money. If you think that its a tradition to buy flowers for girls on Valentine's Day like it is a tradition to give angbaos after you are married during CNY, I think just a simple one will do. Yi si yi si jiu hao. An $8888 angbao is too exagerrated expecially if you don't have the means. Just like a 99 (or 999) roses bouquet.

And actually right, since buying flowers on Valentine's Day is so "normal", its not special anymore. If your girlfriend or the girl you fancy likes receiving flowers, why don't you consider getting a bouquet for her every other month except for Valentine's Day. Isn't it sweeter? And maybe one week after Valentine's Day will have CLEARANCE SALES! Hahaha.

Ok lah, thats just crap. The reason why I am blogging such stupid stuff is because I remembered my meeting time wrongly. Supposed to be 10am but I thought it was 9am. Damn it. one more hour of sleep makes a hell lot of difference you know! For me.

And yah, I may not be able to make it for K-lunch this sunday. I need to catch up on work in the afternoon and celebrate yenfang's bday in the evening. I'm sorry Mak. We will K again when you come back from Brunei k? And I haven't forget the meal you owe me.

Take care peepz.
